Fashion video

I filmed parts of our photoshot to create a fashion film. I put all the clips together using imovie, the clips show me and my group guiding the model though our photoshot, getting the models ready and just the process we went though on the day of our photoshot to get our photographs.

Photoshoot Trends

We did lots of trend research before our shoot mainly looking at the upcoming season of Spring/Summer 2011. The final trends we incorporated into our shoot were:

Leather:

 Nicholas Vaudelet

                                                                         Angel Schlesser

 Maria Escote

                                                                          Antonio Alvarado

Amaya Arzuaga

Our take on the leather trend !

Shorts:

Hotpants were a key item- particularly in leather. However we chose to incorporate the denim trend in with the shorts.

Monochromatic:

Mottled, speckled or pointilised patterns were used in this trend as well as small scale gingham checks. I think this helped to influence our use of pattern in the shoot:

Most of the trends for this season were quite fun and not to be taken too seriously. I think this was an ideal season to influence our shoot as it was quite a fun idea behind it and I think the trends mirror our iconic theme really well.

Final four images.

These are the four images we have chosen as our final four images. These photos have been PhotoShoped, the images didn't really need to be edited that much all we adjusted was the contrast and lighting so that the difference between black and white where more obvious.

Final Images

In the end we decided to use two models that had very different looks to recreate a girly girl Minnie and a more edgy Minnie. We looked at various make up techniques and although we like the Geisha look, we thought it was more appropriate, for the style we were wanting to create, to just use some features of the Geisha look, such as the dark lips and eyes. We looked at hair styles and was considering trying to make the hair look like ears but as one of the models had short hair and we felt it would take up a lot of our time, we decided to just use Minnie styled hair pieces such as ear headbands and bows for the hair. After researching lots of images on styling and photography, we decided that we were probably going to change the photographs to black and white and therefore we wanted to focus more on patterns that would be effective once the images had been edited, rather than colour. We also noticed that Minnie's legs are black so we tried to use leggings in our images as much as possible to keep that link between Minnie Mouse and our recreated Minnie. We took the photos in a RAW file so it wouldn't pixelate when editing our images.

These are our final favourite images;
