I found a designer called Jeremy Scott who did a whole collection inspired by Minnie and Mickie Mouse. I thought this would be good to help us come up with a final look. Its an autumn/winter collection, but uses bright block colour's and interesting prints on the garments, which are actually the black sillohette of Minnie/Mickie's ears. The ears are definitely the key symbol which identifies Minnie mouse as a character, and if you asked anybody they'd be able to say who it was instantly! This is the way forward for a new style which we can use but with a twist so it's recognisable but making it our own.
I really liked that Jeremy used lots of different shapes with the garments, some are fitted jersey that worked with structured type shoulders while others had flare and drape. I also really like the block bright colours of the coats, its really striking and even though I wouldn't automatically think to link this to the Disney characters it really works and gives a big impact. The styling is also an inspiration, I really liked that all the models had a black bobbed cut which links to Minnie, and the make-up was dark with red lips..maybe suggesting a naughty Minnie or just adding more edge?
